[1] International Orality Network Annual Conference Scheduled 16-19 September 2013 in Chesterfield, Missouri
The International Orality Network (www.orality.net) will be hosting their annual conference at the Hilton DoubleTree Conference Center in Chesterfield, Missouri, near St. Louis. The event will be held 16-19 September 2013.
The International Orality Network, (ION), formed in 2002 with the purpose of helping to “make disciples of the world’s 4 billion oral learners.” The annual conference helps attendees apply effective oral methods in Bible studies, church planting, sermons and conversations. The event will give practical help and ministry ideas for working in the cultures of those who can’t read (non-literate) and those who choose not to read (oral preference learners).
There are two ways to participate in this event.
-- Full Conference: Begins with an exciting introductory session on Monday afternoon, 16 September and concludes Thursday after breakfast. Tuesday’s plenary session will focus on the Seven Disciplines of Orality and will feature seven exciting guest speakers. The conference includes a variety of workshops, plenary sessions, networking, and access to numerous exhibitors.
-- Single Day Overview: On Tuesday, 17 September, a single day special is offered. Attendees will be able to participate in a special day-long plenary session focused on the Seven Disciplines of Orality. Lunch and access to the exhibitors is included.
If you are unfamiliar with the term “orality,” please consider these points:
-- Two thirds of the world’s population learns by oral means.
-- Orality is not only the spoken word; it can include drama, music, media, the arts and hands‐on experiential teaching.
-- The use of oral methods has been around for thousands of years.
-- Most historical records began with an oral history that was only later recorded in written form.
-- Many languages have no written Bible and even if they did, few could read it. An “oral Bible” is the most practical, immediate way to communicate God’s truths.
-- Even in highly literate cultures, there is often a preference toward oral learning.
It is in light of these important considerations that ION holds its annual conference. Their goal is to increase people’s awareness of the need and then provide practical resources to help train and educate people toward the use of oral methodologies and strategies.

[2] Reformed Church of Zambia Pastor and Lamba Chieftainess Agree upon Upholding Those in Positions of Influence
A 5 July 2013 Post Zambia article by Fridah Nkonde titled “Leaders Deserve Respect - Chieftainess Malembeka” reports that Reformed Church of Zambia Chilenje Congregation pastor the Rev. Penias Mbewe stated that Zambians should “support and encourage people holding influential positions” in the country, stating:
"As Zambians, we need to continue praying, supporting and encouraging our leaders. We should also try all means to offer solutions to the many problems that people are facing. We all know that each and every citizen expects so much from government, but we should also work hard and contribute to the economic development of the country. Leaders are also human and they can make mistakes. It is up to us as citizens, the Church and other organisations to talk to them and find solutions to some problems. It is up to us, the Zambians, to help government fulfill its promises."
In response to the Rev. Mbewe’s statement, Chieftainess Malembeka of the Lamba people in the Mpongwe district of Zambia said that Zambia is a Christian nation, adding:
"It is true that we need to support and encourage our leaders. But what we should not forget is that as Zambians, we should also respect our leaders because respect is part of our culture. If you fail to respect those holding influential positions, don't expect anyone to respect you when you become a leader. We should also support our leaders because if we do not give them the support that they need, it would be very difficult for them to work accordingly. And when our leaders are wrong, the best we thing to do is to sit them down and see the way forward. We should not be insulting our leaders. Insults are not part of our culture. We should always learn to offer solutions instead of condemning them."

[3] Presbyterian Church of Ghana Ordains Twelve Ministerial Probationers
Vibe Ghana reported in an 8 July 2013 article titled “Presby Church Ordains Twelve New Ministers” that twelve ministerial probationers were recently ordained by the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) at a service in Kumasi, Ghana.
Chairman of the PCG Asante Presbytery, the Rev. Dr. Kwabena Opuni-Frimpong, called on the new ministers to do away with practices inconsistent with their calling and the true Bible teachings, and expressed concern about recent controversies and acts of malpractices involving some of the priests, saying that the controversies are unhelpful to the image of the Christian religion.
Opuni-Frimpong encouraged the congregation to be bold and expose erring members of the clergy, and said that practices of some contemporary ministers including arrogance, greed, materialism, and false prophecies have no basis in the Bible and are completely alien to the true biblical doctrines.
Opuni-Frimpong additionally advised the new ministers to remain resolute and focused on the job of helping to spread the Gospel and bring salvation to the people, and told the new ministers to counsel the youth and help them to appreciate their roles and responsibilities in building a harmonious society.

[4] Why Did Christians Fund Cultist Glenn Beck's Mormon Coming Out Party?
Founder of Liveprayer.com, the Rev. Bill Keller, is confused why Christians would provide much of the funding for Mormon cult member Glenn Beck's "Man in the Moon" event this past weekend at the home of his cult in Salt Lake City, Utah, which really was Beck's coming out party and a showcase for his Mormon cult.
In his Tuesday 9 July 2013 Daily Devotional, Keller begins by reminding readers that the Bible says in Ephesians 5:11, "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." Keller states that he is appalled at the "biblical illiteracy" amongst Christians who support Beck, the member of a satanically inspired cult leading souls to hell with a false gospel. He shared that if Christians understood the false beliefs of Mormonism, they would know Beck's "Man in the Moon" was simply an outgrowth of the teachings of his cult's historically documented con artist, pedophile, polygamist, racist founder Joseph Smith (1805-1844) who told his followers there are "men living on the moon who dress like Quakers and live to be nearly 1000 years old." Beck and his cult believe and teach that "good Mormon men" (works-based salvation is a key to Mormonism and many cults, which explains Beck's emphasis on 'works') will die and become the "god" of their own planet one day.
Keller has little patience for those he calls "modern day Judases" such as Christian historian David Barton, founder of Wallbuilders. Keller states that it is well known Christians like Barton who Beck has bought and paid for to give him and his lie that he is a Christian undeserved credibility amongst Christians who simply don't understand the true beliefs of the Mormon cult. Barton makes millions each year by being part of Beck's media empire and despite the Biblical teaching in 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 about being "unequally yoked," Barton also sits on the Board of Beck's non-profit charity Mercury One (as does Beck's wife) that sponsored the Salt Lake City event this past weekend.
A part of this weekend's events was a temporary "museum" of historical artifacts. Included was a gold pocketwatch from the founder of Beck's Mormon cult Joseph Smith, but not the mythical gold tablets Smith claims he was led to by an "angel" from which he wrote the heretical Book of Mormon which is the foundation for the anti-Biblical teachings of this less than 200-year-old cult. Also prominent this weekend were high profile Mormon cult members like politicians Mia Love and Mike Lee, as well as kidnapping victim Elizabeth Smart
Smart was taken from her home in 2002 as a "wife" by a self-professed prophet of Mormonism simply following the pure teachings of Smith. Keller was a lone voice in the media during the Smart affair educating people that it was almost certain this is what happened to Smart, as happens to hundreds of young girls in the western states each year but don't have a father who is a bishop in the Mormon cult that enabled her family to get national media coverage. Keller was proven to be correct when Smart was discovered a few years later and the story of her kidnapping and "marriage" became public.
Beck has used his national radio program over the years to attract Christians through his conservative political ideology, using them to build his current media empire by selling books, charging subscription fees for his internet TV program, and driving traffic to his internet news/propaganda site "The Blaze" in order to generate ad revenues. Keller stated he is amazed how gullible Christians are when Beck and one of his key business partners who pay him millions annually, Freedom Works, took in millions from people who follow them during the previous Presidential election cycle in order to oust President Obama from office and elect Beck's fellow cult member Mitt Romney, and failed!
Keller concluded the 9 July devotional by stating that the rise of a cult member like Beck and his influence is Bible prophecy being fulfilled, since Jesus warned in the last days there would be many "false Christ's." The church in the day of Smith knew what the Bible taught and ran him out of every town he tried to settle in because of the false doctrines and pure heresy he was preaching. Beck is simply the product of a generation of gutless, watered-down preaching leaving people hungry for someone to lead them.
With the better percentage of two full generations who have never been to church, most who are, in weak, apathetic, biblically illiterate shells of what the church used to be, it creates the perfect atmosphere for a wolf in sheep's clothing like Glenn Beck. Sadly, Beck funds the bulk of his nearly [US]$100 million yearly empire off of Christians who have not just made this cult member a personal fortune, but worse of all, a percentage of what they give Beck helps expand his satanic Mormon cult that is leading souls to hell with a false gospel!

Christian Copts of California released the following statement on 8 July 2013:
President Obama: What has been taking place in Egypt since June 30, 2013 is one of the greatest events in Egypt's modern history. CNN announced the number of protesters at 33 million as seen by Google. BBC said that the number of Egyptians protesting is the largest number of protesters in a political event in the history of mankind.
The portrayal of this as a military coup is an insult to the Egyptian people and a denial of their constitutional right to remove elected government officials from office when they fail to perform as promised. The armed forces did not initiate the protest nor did it replace the president; they simply did what they constitutionally bound to do, which is to execute the will of the people.
President Morsi won the election by 51.7% which amounted to only 13.2 million votes; only a fraction of the 22 million who signed the "Rebel Form," or the 33 million who took to the streets demanding his ousting. While in office, President Morsi not only failed to deliver on his campaign promises, but he mishandled the economy, leading Egypt to the verge of bankruptcy. He pushed through a constitution written exclusively by Islamists, allowed extremists to openly persecute Coptic Christians with impunity, and primarily concentrated on garnering political power for Islamists by appointing them to key positions throughout Egypt, including the appointment of a member of the terrorist organization Gamaa Islameya to the Luxor governorship.
President Morsi's intentions to become a dictator became clear just a few months after assuming office, when in November 2012 he granted himself unlimited power to legislate without judicial oversight or review of his acts.
President Obama: The United States, as the guardian of democracy in the world, has a responsibility to support and encourage the free will of the Egyptian people, rather than supporting a dictator and his militant Moslem Brotherhood. As Americans of Egyptian heritage, we expect nothing less than that.
