[1] Polish Family in UK Appeal Order for Withdrawal of Food and Fluids from a Severely Disabled Patient

Following an online court hearing earlier in December, Mr. Justice Cohen agreed with the NHS doctors that, having suffered brain damage after his heart stopped for forty-five minutes on 6 November 2020, the middle-aged Polish man living in the West Country, who can be publicly identified only as “RS”, could survive “for up to five years or more”.

Since the heart attack, RS has been recovering, but the judge found that he would never recover beyond “a minimally conscious state”, and it was in his best interest for all life-sustaining treatment to be withdrawn, including nutrition and fluids.

In his judgment the judge found that RS “would not want to be kept alive in a state which provides him with no capacity to obtain any pleasure and which is so upsetting to his wife and children”. The judge concluded that it was not in RS’s best interests to be kept alive.

RS’s mother, who lives in Poland, has already spent most of her savings on legal fees, trying to save her son. Her fight to save her son’s life is supported by her children and grandchildren, although not by RS’s wife. The family has lodged an urgent appeal against the decision, which will be heard tomorrow.

In a controversial 2018 case, Lady Justice King was a member of both judicial panels which dismissed appeals by the parents of one-year-old Alfie Evans against the decision to withdraw his life support.

[2] Stanton Healthcare Founder and CEO, Brandi Swindell, Calls for Pregnancy Resource Centers and Life-affirming Clinics to Resist and Not Comply with HHS if They Issue Regulations or Mandates for Abortion Referrals Under a Secretary Xavier Becerra

NEWS PROVIDED BY
Stanton Healthcare
Dec. 11, 2020

WASHINGTON, Dec. 11, 2020 /
Christian Newswire/ -- If abortion mandates are required by HHS, Ms. Swindell says, "Stanton Healthcare will not comply. We will risk arrest, jail time, and fines to defend our right to provide quality compassionate, medically-accurate care to the women we serve."

The group is asking the Senate to reject Xavier Becerra's nomination and for Mr. Biden to nominate a person who is committed to providing true health care services to the nation rather than promoting a radical extremist political agenda.

Stanton also calls for the over 3,000 pregnancy resource centers and life-affirming clinics to reject and refuse to comply with any HHS regulations under a Biden Administration which would call for abortion referrals or counseling.

Stanton Public Policy Center is a Woman's advocacy and educational group that works on issues of human rights and justice which empower and inspire women.  It is affiliated with Stanton Healthcare which has life-affirming women's health clinics in America and internationally.

Danielle Versluys, Director of Stanton Healthcare of Southern California states:

"Attorney General Becerra has a track record of targeting pregnancy medical clinics like Stanton Healthcare in California. As was made clear by the Supreme Court's ruling in NIFLA v. Becerra, pregnancy centers and clinics should not be forced to refer for abortions against their will, contrary to AG Becerra's efforts.

"As a lifelong resident of California and the director of a fully licensed pregnancy medical clinic in this state, I emphatically urge the U.S. Senate to reject the appointment of AG Becerra as Secretary of Health and Human Services. Becerra has demonstrated that he is unqualified for the HHS position and is radically biased in support of abortion - to the point of defending unconstitutional laws targeting legal clinics which provide charitable services at no cost to underserved, often minority, populations. The policies which AG Becerra has defended go against the principle of 'do no harm,' and attempted to force us to participate in actions which are by nature anti-woman.

"Stanton Healthcare of Southern California would not adhere to a state mandate requiring our clinic to promote and refer for abortions, and we will not comply with any future HHS mandate which would require similar moral compromise."

Brandi Swindell, Founder and CEO of Stanton Healthcare states:

"The nomination of Attorney General Becerra by President-Elect Biden to HHS Secretary is deeply troubling on many levels. It would undo the great strides made in the past four years to protect women's health and human life in the womb.

"AG Becerra has a track record of working against life-affirming women's medical clinics like Stanton. How do we judge future behavior? By past behavior.

"If he is confirmed, it will be a nightmare for women's health. We strongly urge the Senate to oppose the confirmation of AG Becerra and to do everything within their power to protect pregnancy centers and clinics.

"I want to make it clear as the Founder and CEO of Stanton Healthcare: if Becerra becomes the HHS Secretary, our Stanton Healthcare clinics will never refer for abortions regardless of any mandates set forth by HHS. We will not comply. We would risk arrest, jail time, and fines to defend our right to provide quality compassionate, medically-accurate care to the clientele we serve. And we encourage pregnancy centers and clinics across the nation to refuse to be intimidated into compliance with abortion referrals. Now is the time for us to fight and stand like never before."

[3] The Pope Issues Another Heretical Document Contradicting God’s Word

Roman Catholic Pope Francis issued the latest in a long line of papal letters that fly in the face of God’s Word, the Holy Bible. Entitled Fratelli Tutti (“Brothers All”), the encyclical letter calls for global unity. It builds on the Document on Human Fraternity that the Pope signed with Ahman al-Tayyeb, the Grand Imam of al-Azhar in Abu Dhabi, in February 2019.

It teaches the heresy of the universal Fatherhood of God. It teaches the heresy that all beliefs bring richness to the human family. It teaches that “Jesus Christ is in those who are abandoned or excluded.” It calls for open borders. “Each country also belongs to the foreigner inasmuch as a territory’s goods must not be denied to a needy person coming from elsewhere.” It denounces capital punishment and calls for the “care of the whole planet.” It calls for the “subordination of all private property to the universal destination of the earth’s goods, and thus the right of all to their use,” which, of course, is communism. It rejects the concept of a “just war,” calls for disarmament, promotes the myth that disarmament would produce global peace, and makes the ridiculous claim that war can be stayed “with a word” and “peace can be maintained by peace.”

[4] Parents Lose Custody of Teen Daughter after Refusing to Commit to Sex Change

The following is excerpted from “Parents Lose Custody,” Reformation Charlotte, Dec. 1, 2020: “The parents of a ‘transgender’ teenage girl--born a female, still a female, and will always be a female--has lost custody of their daughter after refusing to commit to hormone therapy to effect a sex change.

According to The Australian, a judge ruled that the confused teenage girl who wants to ‘transition’ into a boy-- an obviously impossible feat to any sane person--on the balance of probabilities, had suffered verbal abuse ‘related to his feelings and expression of gender identity’ (“Parents’ grief as ‘trans teen’ taken into care,” The Australian, Nov. 29, 2020). [This is Australia’s first case of a child removed because parents resisted cross-sex hormone treatment.] ...

[A]ctivist judges and politicians are on the prowl seeking to devour every last semblance of sanity and logical thought. In recent months, Australia has implemented a number of anti-conservative policies that seek to destroy Christianity and the Christian family. Conversion therapy has been banned in most of the country, and [by] the ‘Change or Suppression (Conversion) Practices Prohibition Bill 2020,’ practitioners face a $10,000 fine and up to 10 years in prison.

These policies have been criticized by the Australian Christian Lobby which argues that parents are left vulnerable to criminalization for refusing to accept and allow their child’s ‘gender transition.’”

[5] National Association of Realtors’ Speech Control

The following is excerpted from “National Association of Realtors,” Frontpage, Nov. 30, 2020: “The National Association of Realtors claims to have 1.4 million members. There will be fewer members before long as the association begins purging conservative real estate agents.

At the center of the storm was an addition to Article 10 which covers various forms of discrimination. ... Even if you’re at home and you post something opposed to gay marriage or illegal migration, you can lose your business. ... When you’re a real estate agent, you no longer have the right to personal opinions. Article 10-5 immediately transformed 1.4 million people into subordinates at the mercy of NAR brass who have the authority to determine what political or religious views they can hold. ‘It means that we never take our hands off, no matter where we are, no matter what we do, we are always licensed and we are always a member of the National Association of Realtors.’

New York State Association of Realtors President Jennifer Stevenson warned. Never taking your ‘hands off’ is endemic to socialist tyrannies and has no place in America. ... Anyone can bring an ‘ethics’ complaint which will lead to a ‘hearing’ with ‘witnesses’ and ‘counsel.’ ... And if they lose that hearing, then not only will they be expelled from the NAR, but the state real estate licensing authority will be told that the agent violated the ‘public trust’ which can lead to the loss of their license. Say the wrong thing on Facebook and lose your license, your business, and your livelihood.

[1] Aborted Human Remains Used in the Production and Testing of Vaccines

NEWS PROVIDED BY
Georgia Right to Life (GRTL)
Dec. 10, 2020

NORCROSS, Ga., Dec. 10, 2020 /Christian Newswire/ -- Georgia Right to Life (GRTL) announced today its policy opposing vaccines whose development exploited the intentional death of a pre-born child.

"The production and testing of vaccines using the remains of aborted human beings, regardless of manner of conception, is morally wrong and must be opposed. GRTL strongly urges the rejection of such vaccines," the policy statement says.

"We're not giving medical advice to anyone," explained GRTL President Ricardo Davis. "We're just presenting the facts that most groups are ignoring, because many pro-life advocates will have a problem taking such a vaccine."

Davis noted that COVID-19 vaccines developed by both Moderna and Pfizer/BioNtech employed a testing process, either by them or a third party, that used a cell line obtained from the kidney of an aborted child.

A third vaccine being pursued by AstraZeneca is even worse. It uses that same cell line for production of its vaccine.

"Exploiting the death of a child for any reason--no matter how noble—is morally wrong. It denies the Personhood of a pre-born child."

The testing phase involves using animals—the standard protocol of vaccine development before human trials begin.

Specialized mice were "humanized," meaning mice embryos were implanted with cells from an aborted child that were programmed to develop into humanized lungs.

Researchers then inject them with the vaccine, as well as a coronavirus similar to COVID-19 to test the mice's immune response.

"There are alternative, ethical ways to conduct such tests, as well as to produce a vaccine," Davis said. "I encourage everyone concerned about the link between abortion, vaccine development, biomedicine, and human trafficking to demand that government support the development of vaccines that don't rely on the brutal act of abortion."

Experts say they really don't know how long a COVID-19 vaccine will be effective after it's taken. Predictions range from six months to a year. Moderna recently announced it may be as short as three months.

For more information on other vaccines being pursued go to the highly respected Lozier Institute.

Georgia Right to Life promotes respect and effective legal protection for all innocent human life from earliest biological beginning through natural death. GRTL is one of a number of organizations that have adopted Personhood as the most effective pro-life strategy for the 21st century.

[2] Court to Hear Four Christian Preacher’s Case Against Police after Brutal Bristol Arrests

December 7, 2020

Today, four Christian preachers, known as ‘the Bristol Four’, will challenge Avon and Somerset Police over their brutal arrests following a dramatic incident in July 2016.

Beginning on Monday 7 December at Bristol County Court, Mike Overd, Don Karns, Mike Stockwell and AJ Clarke will bring claims against the police for: assault, false imprisonment, malicious prosecution, misfeasance in a Public Office, and infringement of their Human Rights, in particular articles 9, 10 and 11 of the European Convention of Human Rights.

The case raises significant issues on the right to freedom of speech and the freedom of Christian preachers in the UK to manifest their religious beliefs and to have the right to freedom of assembly in public.

One of the preachers, Mike Overd, will also challenge the police on what his Christian Legal Centre lawyers describe as an eight year ‘sustained campaign of harassment’ against him.

The harassment has included one police sergeant appearing on local BBC television in 2014 to encourage business owners “if they’re offended” by Mr Overd’s preaching, “to record any evidence on their mobile phone and send it to us.”

Rather than reducing crime in Taunton, this led to an increase in abuse against Mr Overd from members of the public. No video evidence was ever submitted to the police which led to a conviction against him.

Dramatic video footage

The case primarily centres on a dramatic piece of body cam video footage revealing the shocking arrest of Mr Overd in Bristol City Centre on 6 July 2016.

That day, Mr Overd and his three friends were preaching outside Bristol's Broadmead Shopping Centre, ironically near the statute of John Wesley (who known for his street preaching). The four took it in turns to preach, and as they did, a crowd gathered.

At points, the crowd was loud and aggressive, some swore and were abusive towards the men. However, the vast majority of the crowd wished to engage in lively debate with the preachers. Members of the public debated all manner of topics, the differences between Islam and Christian belief, sin and life after death.

After the gospel had been proclaimed for at least a couple of hours police officers said the amplification needed to be turned off. Another speaker had set up, across the precinct, to speak about Islam and the police officer had decided competing amplification was unwelcome. The Christians turned off their speaker.

However, unexpectedly mounted police arrived on the scene and put a stop to the public speaking by positioning their horses between the speakers and onlookers.

Seeing his friend moved aside by the police on horseback, Mr Overd stepped up to preach again and was told by another officer, PC Phillipou, that he was "causing a disturbance" and was "not welcome".

The officer told Mr Overd that he was going to give him a Dispersal Notice, but instead of doing so, video footage reveals Mr Overd being brutally pulled to floor and screaming in pain. He was then handcuffed and dragged off to a police van and held in police custody for over seven hours.

Why have you arrested me?

The policeman said to Mr Overd: ‘there is a line of freedom of speech…you were aggravating people…challenging homophobia….challenging muslims…”

To which Mr Overd says: “We were just saying what the Bible says.”

The policeman says: “That’s fine,” to which Mr Overd responds: “Then why have you arrested me?”

In the footage the policeman admits, when it is suggested by Mr Overd, that he does not know what Mr Overd is being arrested for. PC Phillipou then had to radio colleagues for answers.

Two other preachers, both of whom were visiting from the US, were arrested because they could not give an address to the police as they could not remember where they were staying.

All four men were detained in custody for over six hours following the incident and were questioned extensively at a later date before being charged.

During the trial that followed, the prosecutor in court said that quoting parts of the King James Bible in modern Britain, as the preachers did, should be considered "abusive" and "a criminal matter".

All four men were eventually acquitted of all charges. There has never been an apology or any admittance of wrongdoing from Avon and Somerset police.

Public preaching a fundamental right

Ahead of the hearing, Mr Overd said: “We have faced no alternative but to bring this case as the police must be held to account for their actions for what they did in July 2016 and moreover for their actions over the past eight years.

“The freedom to preach the message of the gospel on the streets of the UK to the lost, is one of our fundamental rights in this country. If we lose that right, we will begin to lose every other freedom.

“I believe I should be free to express views of public interest, including on culture or morality. I never use profanity, I do not attack people, however I accept that I do criticise ideologies, other religions and certain sexual practises. Ultimately free speech is worthless without the freedom to offend.

“The attitude and approach from the police is that if they receive a report that a Christian is being ‘offensive’, they turn up arrest first, ask questions later. There has to be a cultural shift in British policing, not just in Somerset, but across the UK.”

‘Offence’ is subjective

Andrea Williams, chief executive of the Christian Legal Centre, said: "Mr Overd and his friends are motivated by love. They want to share the good news of Jesus with people who might not otherwise hear it. Sometimes that means addressing the false claims of other religions or ideologies.

"Robust debate is often necessary, especially when objections are being raised or abuse is hurled. We shouldn't be afraid of it.

"The aggressive treatment of Mr Overd and his friends by the police and prosecution is shocking. The police should be defending freedom of speech, not clamping down on it.

"The standing point for the police is whether people are ‘offended’. This is an entirely subjective concept and cannot be used as the primary means to decide whether lawful preaching can be stopped and the preachers deprived of their freedom. Any suggestion that there is a right not to be offended must be strongly resisted. In today's democracy, we need the freedom to debate, challenge and disagree.

"We cannot allow the gospel to be shut out of public debate, and that is what is at stake in this crucial case.”

[4] A Burning and Shining Light: The Testimony and Witness of George Whitefield Available from the Author

Catch the glory and the life-altering time of the Great Awakening in Britain and America during the heart of the 18th Century. In the thick of this monumental time in history was GEORGE WHITEFIELD.

He rose from obscurity to become one of the most influential preachers in terms of conversions and mass evangelism since the time of Christ and the apostles. Whitefield spoke with clarity and conviction. Everywhere we journeyed, there were conversions, and places were changed. Church buildings could not contain the crowds before the days of modern communication. Obstacles and opposition neither hindered the great preacher.

Now Dan Nelson, recently retired Pastor of First Baptist Church Camarillo, California (serving there 35 years) has captured Whitefield in probably the most concise chronological biography of his life. Following a lifetime of study, Nelson puts you back in time when the spirit of Revival lingered over two continents. Learn of this spiritual giant of whom Spurgeon said was his "human model of ministry and preaching."

"A Burning and Shining Light: The Testimony and Witness of George Whitefield" by Dan Nelson is available by contacting Dan thru messenger on Facebook for $17.99 plus $2 for shipping. [2] Police Apologise after Breaking Up Legal Church Broadcast and Prosecuting Pastor on His Doorstep

29 November 2020         Issued by: Christian Concern

Thames Valley Police have apologised after a Milton Keynes pastor became the first church leader to be prosecuted for allegedly breaking covid-19 regulations despite holding a legal church broadcast in line with government guidance.

At 7.15pm on Friday 20 November, two police officers demanded access to Kingdom Faith Ministries International Church in Milton Keynes, a Pentecostal ministry that has over 4,000 followers worldwide, after reports of ‘loud music.’

Rev. Daniel Mateola, 49, who is being supported by the Christian Legal Centre, was holding a legal broadcast service in the church to 150 online members of his congregation.

The broadcast was part of a Men’s Conference addressing the struggles his male congregants have suffered in the pandemic.

Churches holding in-person worship services have been criminalised under the current UK lockdown which began on November 5.

122 church leaders, including Pastor Mateola, are pursuing a judicial review against the government’s decision.

However, government guidance clearly stipulates that church leaders can broadcast to their congregation online from their buildings and can work with support staff, such as singers and sound engineers, that it judges are essential to the running of the service, with no limit placed on that number.

The guidance states:

Attending a place of worship for broadcasting or filming an act of worship is permitted but should only involve those people working or volunteering who are essential for the content of the service, and for technical support to enable people to watch and worship online or via a television or radio.

If musicians or singers usually form part of the act of worship that is being broadcast, they may participate but only if they are essential to the delivery of that act of worship. The numbers or people involved should be kept as small as possible to minimise risks and participants should follow social distancing guidance.

However, video footage revealed two officers entering the church building and demanding that the support staff leave claiming that they were breaking the regulations.

Pastor Mateola tried to show the officers the government guidance on his laptop, but they refused to look.

When Pastor Mateola continued to politely insist that what they were doing was legal, the officer radioed in for more support and a further 7 police officers were called to the scene.

Both officers then began to dictate to Pastor Mateola how he should hold the service and said that he only needed two people in the building: ‘one to speak and one to hold the phone and record.

The officers claimed that there were 30 people in the building, but Pastor Mateola insists that there was half this amount, each with their specific role as part of the online broadcast and each in separate rooms socially distancing.

Pastor Mateola told the officers that ‘you have escalated this unnecessarily’. Support staff then faced no alternative but to leave and the service after an hour of disruption was forced to end.

‘Music breaks covid regulations’

After dark on Tuesday 24 November, video footage has also revealed two police officers from Thames Valley police arriving on Pastor Mateola’s doorstep.

With documentation in her hand, a female officer read him his rights and notified him that he would be prosecuted for breaking covid-19 regulations, stating:

“I am here to tell you that you are going to be formerly reported to court for what happened…you do not have to say anything but it may harm your defence if you do not mention now something you later rely on in court…you will receive something in the post to tell you what happens next.”

Pastor Mateola responded saying: “You have totally disregarded government guidelines, I kept showing them to you… but you said it didn’t matter and you were going to go ahead whatever the sergeant said…I complied with you, you totally destroyed everything we were trying to do with the broadcast…you didn’t even know the guidelines and we have ended up being harassed for no reason.”

Incredibly, a male officer then said: “you have broken coronavirus regulations…the music was blaring out loud.”

Pastor Mateola then said: “This is becoming a nightmare, I’m a reverend…we have over 4,000 followers who cannot go to church…there has been so much unnecessary harassment…but there is no negativity against you as officers, we love you and we thank you for what you do in the community.”

“I was treated like a criminal”

Pastor Mateola, who is one of 122 church leaders pursuing a judicial review against the English and Welsh government’s decision to close churches, said: “I am deeply shocked and hurt by what has happened.

“I am relieved that the police have recognised their mistake and have apologised. I have been treated like a criminal while legally seeking to be a blessing and to bring hope to my fellow citizens at a time of great need physically, emotionally and spiritually.

“Sadly, the government and police appear to have no understanding of what a church is, what it does and why it is so important to our society, especially for the most vulnerable and the lonely.

“Although I have joined a legal challenge against the government’s decision to close churches, I have nevertheless followed the regulations that have been in force. Despite this I still found myself facing prosecution. If the police do not understand the regulations it is small wonder that church leaders are confused.”

‘Almost unbelievable’

Andrea Williams, chief executive of the Christian Legal Centre, said: “If someone had said at the start of 2020 that by November the police would be interpreting and enforcing government rules which involved closing down legal broadcasts from a church and prosecuting a pastor, no one would have believed them.

Yet this is the current reality for church leaders seeking to legally function and faithfully serve their congregation and communities in need under government covid-19 regulations.

“It is astonishing and disturbing in its own right to see nine police officers breaking up a church broadcast and treating it’s leader with such disrespect. But to then turn up unannounced at Pastor Mateola’s family home and prosecute him, is sinister and almost unbelievable.

“There are so many other things the police could be doing to support and protect our communities at this time of crisis. Why go to so much effort to shut down an online church broadcast?

“The wider issue and principle at stake is that the forced closure of churches and interference by the secular government violates centuries of constitutional tradition. The church serves at the heart of our public life and as well as seeking to meet the physical needs of many it exists to bring the Good News and hope of Jesus Christ in the middle of a national crisis.

“We call on the government and the police to urgently engage and seek to fully understand what a church is, why they are so important to our communities, why the freedom to worship matters and why churches are needed now more than ever at this unprecedented time.

“Pastor Mateola is a polite, kind and law-abiding citizen and we welcome the apology from the police.”

Chief Superintendent Robert France, Gold Commander for Thames Valley Police’s response to coronavirus, said: ‘It appears… there has been a misunderstanding by our officers of the legislation in place in what is an ever-changing and complex area of enforcement.’

He added: ‘There has been a mistake in the issuing of this ticket and I would like to apologise for the distress I know this is likely to have caused.’

[3] How Reformed Theologians’ Commitment To Self-Rule And Resisting Tyranny Helped Form America

By Mark David Hall

The following essay is part of The Federalist’s 1620 Project, a symposium exploring the connections and contributions of the early Pilgrim and Puritan settlers in New England to the uniquely American synthesis of faith, family, freedom, and self-government.

Last year marked the culmination of The New York Times’s controversial 1619 Project. The project rightly brought attention to the importance of the African American story of enslavement and the 400-year struggle for freedom. Yet its original claim that the United States was founded in 1619 rather than 1776 went too far…

[5] Southern Baptist President Says Christians Are Cursed for Not Fighting for “Gender Justice”

Te following is excerpted from “JD Greear Says,” Reformation Charlotte, Oct. 29, 2020: “JD Greear, president of the Southern Baptist Convention-- who denounced Southern Baptists as racists and white supremacists, called on Christians to stand up for LGBTQ rights, and has a pro-choice woman leading Bible studies at his church and also says that people who are followers of Jesus will think about the ‘rights of immigrants’ while at the ballot box--has denounced the Church as ‘cursed’ like Meroz for not fighting for ‘racial justice’ and ‘gender justice.’ Greear recently complained in a sermon that Christians today, like Christians during the time of American slavery, have a ‘malaise’ about matters of justice because, he says, it doesn’t ‘directly affect them.’ ‘Whether we’re talking about racial justice or gender justice or what have you,’ he says, ‘tragically ... there’s often been a malaise in the church ... because the injustice did not directly affect those of us sitting in places of privilege. Like Meroz, it didn’t affect our tribe.’ Of course, he doesn’t exactly explain what ‘gender justice’ is, however, the website, Gender Justice U.S. defines it as ‘a world where everyone can thrive regardless of their gender, gender expression, or sexual orientation.’ And since Greear has called on Christians to stand up for gay rights and says that using ‘preferred pronouns’ for transgender people is ‘pronoun hospitality’ and that he believes he should do it, one can draw his own conclusion as to what Greear means by the term.”
