[1] Church of Scotland Minister Forgives Pakistani Muslims Who Killed His Mother and Other Family Members
A 14 October 2013 Falkirk Herald article by Jill Buchanan titled “Grangemouth Minister Forgives Mother’s Killers” reports that Church of Scotland the Rev. Aftab Gohar, who lost his mother, niece, nephew, two uncles and other relatives in the 22 September 2013 bombing of All Saints’ Church in Peshawar, Pakistan by Muslim terrorists, has forgiven the bombers, saying:
“It is wrong what these people did but I forgive them. We pray that they may one day develop the wisdom to understand that it is not right to kill children and other innocent people.
“There were 125 children in Sunday School that day. My sister was teaching there. Forgiving is what we learn from the Lord Jesus Christ. That is why I forgive.”
Pastor Gohar’s twenty-three year old niece, Farah Javed, was paralyzed from the waist down in the bombing, and he is trying to get his niece flown to Scotland for medical treatment.
There were 122 people killed in the bombing, and 170 injured.

[2] Presbyterian Church of Vanuatu Calls for Churches and Others to Urge Government to Ban Homosexual Marriage in the Republic of Vanuatu
A 10 October 2013 Radio New Zealand International article titled “Vanuatu Presbyterian Church Wants Ban of Same-Sex Marriage” reports that the Presbyterian Church of Vanuatu has called for a gathering of chiefs, communities and other churches with the goal of petitioning the government of the Republic of Vanuatu to place an outright ban on homosexual marriage.
Homosexual marriage is prohibited under the Republic of Vanuatu constitution, but recent reports have been made that Australian homosexual couples have been “married” on the Vanuatu island of Iririki, which is a three minute ferry ride from the Vanuatu capitol of Port Vila. The entire island is leased to the Iririki Island Resort, and no Vanuatu people live on the island.
